Anyone use UPI Study? - eyrobinson - 10-04-2024

Anyone use UPI Study? Looks like they have some good, decently priced, NCCRS accredited courses. Courses are $250 a piece.

I looked through the catalog and it seems like most of the courses can be found on other, cheaper sources like CLEP, Sophia, study.com, OnlineDegree.com, and Saylor. However, I did notice a few distinctive offerings. Because of the price, I would probably only look at this for unique credits I can't get elsewhere.

In unrelated news, I am a bit turned off by their push to connect with them via WhatsApp. I also feel that the course descriptions and type of credit could be more transparent. I noticed that courses will say "offered by so and so university" which would imply that you would get a transcript from that university, but elsewhere on the site it says the credits are all recommendations through NCCRS. That's important because NCCRS recommendations are less widely accepted than actual university credits ... though if the course is offered by a Canadian university and you're trying to get your degree in the US, then maybe NCCRS credits would be easier because you don't have to go through a foreign credit evaluation? In any case, this information should be ready available to anyone browsing the website without having to connect with UPI via Whatsapp or some other medium that's going to get them spammed forever and ever with marketing messages.

For the cost, they're like an expensive option to the ACE/NCCRS providers we're used to. They have upper level classes in Business, Computer Science, etc that rival Study.com which can be had for cheaper. I see that they partner with ATHE in the UK, in addition to ACE & NCCRS. Interesting to say the least as some of their courses offered have ACE recommendations for credit as well! https://www.acenet.edu/National-Guide/Pages/Organization.aspx?oid=ef9a8446-5e28-ef11-840b-6045bd089f77

I'll look at study.com thank you! @bjcheung77

I need Abnormal Psychology and saw them listed as well as Cooper Smith.

Study.com also has abnormal psychology—both an introductory and an advanced course, but you need to check with Excelsior to see how they transfer and if you need an upper-level specifically.

TESU also has a UL abnormal psychology TECEP that I'm planning to take later this fall.

I noticed they are currently offering 39 usd a month subscriptions with a whopping 3 day free trial. Are they lowering costs to attract more students?

Maybe someone can guinea pig the 3 day trial, try out a course super fast and see what happens?
I am certain that Calculus 2 and UL Psychology courses would catch the interest of the forum if it relly is now just 39 usd a month.

Have fun and tell us what the website is like!

Seems like final exam is proctored. I am expecting it follows a Study.com style format.
