Coursera Google PM Cert to UMPI - dm.hans32 - 09-20-2024

Just wanted to give you all some advice if you're planning on doing the Google PM cert for transfer credit at UMPI. It's supposed to transfer in as 9 credits: 3 in BUS400, 3 in BUS3XX and 3 in BUS1XX, however there has been an issue with it transferring in lately because Coursera isn't issuing the ACE credit badge.

As another poster mentioned in another thread, there was a problem with transferring it in, and it's an issue in Coursera's system. I just ran the gauntlet of getting passed around to a bunch of different people trying to solve this issue. So here's the process to get it corrected:

1. Once you complete the Cert and Coursera tells you to claim your badge, go claim it on your Credly account.

2. Ensure that the Google PM Cert Badge is on "make badge public" (otherwise it won't show on your transcript).

3. Request a copy of the transcript (free) and check to see if the Google PM Cert has an endorsement for ACE credits (not just the FIBAA one) -- If it has the ACE badge, you are good to send the transcript off to UMPI.

4. If your Credly transcript only shows the FIBAA endorsement, you have to open a help ticket with Coursera (Not Credly, like UMPI suggests you do). Easiest way to go about this is open chat, get through the chatbot and explain that you are missing the ACE badge. You will be connected to a live person and they will have to escalate it up to have someone manually issue the badge.

5. Wait for Coursera to email you, notifying you that the issue will be resolved (They will say within minutes but it can be a few hours to a few days).

6. Patiently wait 24-48 hours for Coursera to issue the badge, and you will receive an email telling you that you have a badge to claim. (Do not bug Coursera like I did, it will just create additional tickets that get annoying)

8. Go back to Credly and claim the new badge.

9. Repeat steps 2 and 3, and your problem should be fixed.

Hope all of that helps!
