Seeking Academic Writing Resources for UMPI BAS Degree - garveymoshe - 09-11-2024

Hello everyone,
I’m nearing the completion of my Pierpont degree and planning to transition to the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) for their Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Degree Plan. Before applying, I want to refresh my academic writing skills.
Could anyone recommend resources or materials on academic writing? Does UMPI have its own book on the subject? I know that Thomas Edison State University (TESU) uses “Writing Research Papers: A Complete Guide” by Lester, J. D., & Lester, J. D., Jr. (2018) for their capstone courses. Does UMPI have an equivalent resource?
Any tips or materials you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Brush up on APA and MLA formats. I've had professors using both at UMPI.

You need to understand APA writing. Plenty of online resources for it. UMPI doesn't have a book on this.

You'll be able to use UMPI's library for your research when writing papers. The link is below. You'll need to sign into MaineStreet to gain full accress to the library resources.
