DEAC or DEAC Global - Which one is the legitimate one? - slammX - 08-27-2024
So I've seen DEAC being mentioned a number of times on this forum. I came across a school that's accredited by DEAC Global in the UK (Distance Education Accrediting Council - https://deacg.org), but I see there's also a DEAC in the USA (Distance Education Accrediting Commission - https://www.deac.org)?
Both websites look legitimate. I'm not from either the USA or the UK, and the fact that there are two DEACs confuses me.
What is the DEAC that people refer to when they speak about it on this forum? And is the school in question accredited or not?

https://deacg.org has the address in the UK
https://www.deac.org has the address in the USA and is National accreditation or NA. This is the one referenced usually in this forum.
Ideally you want regional accreditation or RA.

DEAC is the one in the US. DEACG is a UK accreditor. I know nothing about the UK.

DEAC is valid, DEACG is not valid... They're just doing the 'name game', making their name so similar to something that is valid and going off that. Tricksters they are... don't fall for them, they're not legit!

Thanks all for your input. DEACG's website says they've been around for 24 years which gave them some credibility.
I'll avoid the institution in question.
