Plans moving forward - tdat314 - 08-22-2024 Hey Everyone, I started looking into the methods on this forum earlier this year and through the info here and other's help, I finished not only the pierpont BOG degree, but have also finished a session at UMPI which should award me a BAS with minors in MIS, PM, and BA. I asked this question on the discord, but wanted to test the waters here as well to see other opinions. As it stands, I am very strongly considering continuing at UMPI for the MAOL. During my bachelor coursework, I finished 2 of the 4 available exemption classes for the MAOL. I am aware that only 3 can be used for the masters program. I was thinking about taking another session and finishing the last usable MAOL class in the undergrad courses and also using that time to try for another degree program, such as history or political science. The reasoning is that finishing the final MAOL undergrad class would relieve some pressure from me for the graduate classes and might allow me to finish the MAOL in one session, like my bachelors. The cost of two sessions of graduate classes is more than taking another undergrad session, finishing the last exemption class, and finishing another bachelors in an unrelated area. The questions comes down to does anything think it's worth it to do this? Or should I just go for the MAOL right away? RE: Plans moving forward - Hackingat40 - 08-22-2024 Hello! I am currently applying for UMPI as you posted. How was your experience? What classes did you take during that 1 semester at UMPI for the BAS? and was it easy to get your BLS switched over to BAS? I sent my transcripts from pierpont over to UMPI but I do not graduate Pierpont until December 13th (had to wait the next round thanks to all the changes at Pierpont and the process taking forever) On to you question. Personally having a double bachelors would be cool but having a masters from UMPI would be better. Once you obtained your masters no one will ask about your bachelors. from what I have put together. Could you possibly share your plan for UMPI that you did with me? Thanks! RE: Plans moving forward - tdat314 - 08-22-2024 (08-22-2024, 04:35 PM)Hackingat40 Wrote: Hello! A second bachelor's won't help you career wise like a master's. Your minors were all business courses so what would a history or poli sci degree give you? Please don't count on completing the MAOL in 1 term. Yes a handful of people have done it, but it's really rare. The MAOL courses are much more work and there's no draft. RE: Plans moving forward - allvia - 08-22-2024 I agree with ss20ts, just move forward with the MAOL (or maybe look at the HAU MBA $3k for US residents, and at least some of Canada) |
