Is your major on the diploma? - Sarajane - 08-04-2024

I remember seeing someone mention concentrations are not listed on the diploma. Is this still true? If someone does a ba in blank would that be listed in that way or just Bachelors of Arts. Is there a way to request the concentration to be listed I doubt but thought I’d ask lol because I notice they list all the minors. I’m thinking about switching to a bba but idk how much of a difference it would make to see Bachelors of Arts in business admin.

They list the Bachelor of Business Administration, the minor, and academic honors if you have any.

Keep in mind most employers look at your transcript, not your diploma.

Just FYI, this actually varies now.  For people who do the BBA Management and Leadership it just reads Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, for example.

To be honest, most employers don't look at ANY documentation about your degree...but if they do, it would be generally be a transcript. Your diploma, at least in the U.S., is just a ceremonial document to hang on your wall, if you're so inclined.

Concentrations are not listed on the diplomas and there's no way to make requests about what's on them. Your transcripts will show your concentration. Your major is printed on the diploma so it would say Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Minors and concentrations aren't the same thing so they're not listed the same way on the diploma.
