Humanities Question @ Tesc... - mlwilliamsiv - 07-27-2008 Hello everyone. I recently added the CLEP Humanities exam to my humanities requirement because you need "at least two subject areas." I originally had the American Lit CLEP and A&I Lit to meet this requirement. But since both are labeled (LIT) I couldn't use them to meet the "two subject requirement." So my updated plan looks like this: - CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature (6) - CLEP Humanities (6) This will give me my 12 credits needed for this requirement. However, since I've already studied for the American Literature CLEP (test date is on 8/4), I will use this to meet the "Area of Study" portion of the degree. I understand that TESC will allow you take two (2) 100 level courses towards the area of study (with the rest being UL credits at 200 and above.) My question is, if I take the American Literature CLEP which is a 6 credit exam, will TESC count this as one (1) CLEP or will they count this as 2 separate courses at 3 credits each (LIT-111&112). I'm asking because if TESC accepts this exam as one (1) six credit course then that frees me up to take another CLEP like Western Civilization I to add to my area of study. If not then the American Literature CLEP will meet the two (2) 100 level course maximum. I appreciate your help on this matter. Peace be with you all. From a loyal degree seeker, Marshall Humanities Question @ Tesc... - NJMedic - 07-27-2008 Based on how they displayed on my eval, they split 3 credits into humanities/ 3 into gen ed - appearing as two classes - I would guess that they will count it as two seperate 100 level courses even though its a single exam. Humanities Question @ Tesc... - WendyR - 07-27-2008 For my ASBA eval they split it into two categories. Three credits went to Humanities and three credits went to General Education. For my BSBA eval, they applied all six credits for A&I Lit under Humanities so my requirements are completed. TESC has this exam listed as LIT-291 and LIT-292. Hope this info helps!
