Wilmington University MSCS - Jonathan Whatley - 07-15-2024 Wilmington University is launching a new online MS in Computer Science with a choice of concentration in either Data Science or Software Engineering. Students without a computer science, technology, or similar bachelor's degree can complete four undergraduate courses to qualify to enter. Under Wilmington's Dual-Credit Advantage program, students in an eligible Wilmington bachelor's program can incorporate master's-level courses that will apply to both their bachelor's and their master's. For the MSCS, "Eligible undergraduate programs include the BS in Computer Science, the BS in Game Design and Development, the BS in Web Design, the BS in Information Systems Management, the BS in Applied Technology and the BS in Cybersecurity." (And at the undergraduate level, Wilmington is relatively friendly to alt-credit and prior learning assessment.) It depends on the personal preference of the prospective pupil... Yes for those who don't mind the cost, recognition. No for those who want it cheap (under 10K), higher ranked/more recognized. Not really for those who are looking at specific institutions such as the ones offered by MOOC providers, Coursera, Edx, etc. You have GT, UT-Austin for around 10K, Illinois Tech for their MAS Data Science (not CS but comparable) and a couple more for $15K...
