Other then Study.com, anyone know if there is anywhere I can get cheap upper level History credit either through ACE or an accredited college?
I haven't had any luck with upper-level ACE history credit, so what would be the cheapest (out of state)college I can take upper-level History at?

There's going to be a bunch of interesting University of Helsinki online history courses in English the next few months. If you take a bunch of courses, the 200 USD wes evaluation might be worth it.

I calculated the 5 courses that should definitely be available and with the fees and wes eval it would cost 52 usd per credit for 12.5 credits. The bg question would be if they get evaluated as UL or LL.

I thought the Finnish universities were forced by law to lock down their distance learning to require a Finnish personal ID code?

So far, Helsinki still let me sign up for a computer course and a mooc. I am waiting until August for signups, there are 3 courses I am interested in. So far that school doesn't seem to have issued any statements, but until the August signups appear, I won't know for sure.

Basically, I suggest the UMPI route as well, you can 'finish' a degree with the session for $1700, plus hit your 'upper level' requirement you're looking for... It's like getting a two for one deal, you get the upper level requirements, plus you can 'complete' an entire degree if you have the energy and time management to get it done within the session, a minimum of 10 classes for residency purposes.

For Helsinki, do you still need to register first at XAMK and then use your XAMK info to register at Helsinki? Or can you get ECTS directly through Helsinki now?

I think getting a HAKA account via Xamk is the easiest 1st step. Maybe other universities will open a Haka account, but I think everyone here has opened it via Xamk because it is the most seamless option.

The easiest for Helsinki is to first do a free MOOC, they have a few that can be done in an hour or two for free. The Me and my cat and Me and my dog courses were real fun and easy, but you do have to pay around 45 euro to get the ETCS registered. Even if you have no interest in the MOOCS, I think it makes it easier for IT to open your Helsinki Sisu account because there's a transcript.

To get the Helsinki account, you have to personally send an email to IT to help you get an account. They will need to verify your identity. If your passport has a chip, you download an app and it scans the passport and you take a photo. App might require a few tries but once it verifies the passport, your account becomes activated very quickly and from there, you can enter Sisu and select online open courses that interest you. Students with passports without chips can ask IT to open a videocall and verify your passport.

I am already seeing the language on some courses that credit is only available for university students in Finland. So I'm wondering if most of the website just hasn't been updated yet. In any case, I'm not finding those upper level history courses, mostly computer courses and sustainable development/sustainable business courses.
