BS in Communications and BS in UX Design coming to the WGU School of Business - raekwon - 05-10-2024

I posted this over on the WGU reddit yesterday, but... looks like WGU is adding BS programs in Communications and UX Design. I was messing around on the partners site for fun and happened to notice this on one community college's page...

No guidebook PDFs or dedicated pages to be found yet, but I did find the Sophia and SDC pages for each (which show the curriculum).

Oh, that's nice, UI/UX Design seems to be a growing trend now...

I'm not a big fan of communications degrees because they seem to be catch-all types of degrees that are all over the place.

Are we communicating by speech or by writing? What exactly are we teaching? How to write a book, marketing, or how to be a journalist?

I know 3 people in UI/UX and they're buying the first rounds at the pub, no cap, straight up. Mind you, they work a lot of hours and answer to some extreme firey questions sometimes, but if you're in a business bend and can learn Pixma, Canva, Balsamiq, and other tools, along with the usual React and some web dev, you might be able to hone your way into the fortune 500 as well.

This is definitely on the radar now. Thank you!

WGU's BS in User Experience Design landing page is now live. The BS in Communications landing page went live earlier.

If you already have 2 bachelor's degrees and 2 master's degrees, can you go to WGU for a third bachelor's?
