Bachelors of Science in Business - BigJohn1975 - 03-24-2024 Hello, I'm having a real hard time figuring out what exactly is required to meet certain course requirements with Excelsior. For UMPI and TESU it is much easier to figure out. Looking for some help in figuring out what I would have left for a Bachelors of Science in Business, no concentration. Really I'm trying to see if I can finish the degree with only the 3 classes, Cornerstone, Info Lit, and Capstone. I have my Gen Ed stuff done through previous community college and Sophia Learning. With Sophia Learning I have completed 50 classes. Every business and management class. CSM Learn. SDC: BUS 102 BUS 302 BUS 303 BUS 304 BUS 306 BUS 308 BUS 309 BUS 312 BUS 315 ACC 301 FIN 301 RE: Bachelors of Science in Business - jg_nuy - 03-24-2024 Here are the latest Sophia equivalency charts I could find: DegreeForum: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sophia.org_Equivalency_List Excelsior 2023: https://www.excelsior.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Sophia-Learning-Course-Equivalency-Excelsior-University-April-2023.pdf Study.com Study tool: https://study.com/college/school/excelsior-college.html Excelsior 2022: https://www.excelsior.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Study.com-BS-in-Business-08_2022.pdf CooperSmith: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coopersmith_Career_Consulting Davar: https://www.nationalccrs.org/organizations/davar-academy-llc I hope these help. RE: Bachelors of Science in Business - Robinred2404 - 03-24-2024 I hope people can give you some answers. It is kind of hard. I just got my approved transfer credit audit back from Excelsior. I need 18 upper-level credits plus my three Excelsior classes to complete my degree, but they told me they can't give me recommendations for the 18 credits until a few weeks into my first term because approval for transfer courses can change frequently. Anyhow, I'm just taking 6 UL credit courses off of the Excelsior-approved list on Study.com and keeping my fingers crossed. Good Luck. Do you think those ones that I have already done will cover the requirements? Which ones are you planning on taking? RE: Bachelors of Science in Business - BigJohn1975 - 03-25-2024 Or what about a Bachelors in Professional Studies. Can I complete all those classes on SDC / Sophia with the exception of the 3 you have to take with Excelsior? Cornerstone, INL, Capstone. RE: Bachelors of Science in Business - bjcheung77 - 03-25-2024 Great job in getting this far, the only thing missing for us to help you further is, the academic evaluation itself telling you what's missing! That's all it is... attach your evaluation without personal details, it'll show what classes are missing and we can help you find them. @Robinred2404, Exactly what I mentioned on your thread. We just need to know what you've taken already in your academic evaluation to know what we can recommend you and that's it... We should be recommending classes as they may already duplicate what you have. Ah ok, I had read on some other posts that it is best to hold off on the evaluation until you have your Alt classes done and mapped out because they will charge you $300 each time to re-evaluate. That's correct, you're going to be charged that $300. This is usually when I tell people to fill in the addendum and template, so we get the full picture of where you stand. I mean, by listing what you think are remaining and just the course numbers doesn't really give the entire picture of your scenario. If you have a spreadsheet of your completed classes and have the requirements of the degree side by side, you can make sure you've got everything before you apply. RE: Bachelors of Science in Business - rachel83az - 03-26-2024 The $300 fee lasts for, I believe, one or two months? So it's not each and every evaluation that costs $300. but it's pretty close. I already got the reccomendations I needed in the other post. I asked for sources for upper level fine arts courses specifically, and someone gave me two really good sources. I didn't post my other stuff because I really didn't need anymore information than that. I was saying that Excellsior was making it hard, not this forum. I appreciate the help. I only needed science and arts upper level courses to finish my degree. Because Excellsior won't tell me specifically which one's will count yet, I am only taking the courses that are on Excellsiors approved list and noted as Upper Level on the Excellsior list. The upper level approved credits on the Excellsor list is diffrent than on Study.com's general list. I'm taking: English 306: Advnaced Technical Writing Business 313: Orginizational Communication History 307: American Civil Rights Movement Psychology 311: Physiological Psychology Psychology 316: Advanced Social Psychology Psychology 315: Psychology of Motivation and sorry, I can't answer your questions about what will count. I just don't know. I personally just chose to apply to Excellsior before I had all 113 because I wanted to know for sure what would transfer, but I also have my employer reimbursing me for all my expenses so I didn't mind having to pay one 300.00 fee once I get my remaining credits. I can understand why most people wait. |
