CalCampus giving up Regional Accreditation? - GameSlinger - 02-03-2024 I know this source is not discussed much on DegreeForum, but I had the link saved from a while back and looked at it today. It mentions on their about page in the accreditation section that they are voluntarily giving up their Regional Accreditation status on June 30, 2024. While CalCampus is not cheap, they do have some courses that are a little harder to find solo, so could still be a valid source for now. http://www.calcampus.com/about.htm http://www.calcampus.com/list.htm RE: CalCampus giving up Regional Accreditation? - ss20ts - 02-03-2024 Their fees are pretty high compared to most community colleges. I don't see anything on their list of courses that one couldn't take at a community college. Giving up the RA accreditation is interesting. Doesn't look like their courses are ACE approved based on the about page. So what use would the courses be once they give up their accreditation? RE: CalCampus giving up Regional Accreditation? - GameSlinger - 02-07-2024 I agree the costs are pretty high for these courses, which is why I did not use them. After the RA goes away, it looks like they would be NA so still useful, just not as much. I think the idea was good, but the costs severely limited their usefulness outside their local area, which it was originally intended for. Not that I saw. I reads like they got the RA to help prove they were legitimate when they started, but they no longer believe they need to continue proving themselves as there are other options easily available now. My guess is that they don't want to spend the money for only a few people to take the courses. |
