TAMUC - Sophia advanced hours - telldomis - 01-10-2024 Hello! First, I would like to thank all of your for providing so much useful information about TAMUC's competency-based programs. Thanks to this forum I decided to apply and begin the process of completing their Organizational Leadership program later this year. That said, has anyone had any success transferring Sophia courses to meet the 6 advanced hours requirements? Upon review, they applied Intro to Nutrition from Sophia as HHPH 331, which provided me three credits towards this requirement. I did not think that any of the Sophia courses were considered UL, so this was a surprise to me (maybe it was an oversight?). I still need 3 more and was curious if anyone had any other Sophia courses applied as UL courses. I am guessing it is a long shot, but checking does not hurt. For reference, my Sophia credits were applied as such: Core Curriculum College Algebra - Sophia Intro to Chem - Sophia Environmental Science - Sophia Introduction to Ethics - Sophia Art History II - Sophia U.S. History I - Sophia US Hist II - Sophia Microeconomics - Sophia Art History - Sophia Professional Development Devl Effective Teams - Sophia Essentials of Managing Conflict - Sophia Intro to Business - Sophia Financial Accounting - Sophia Project Mgmt - Sophia Visual Communications - Sophia Intro Info Tech - Sophia Prin Finance - Sophia Introduction to Statistics - Sophia Advanced hours Intro to Nutrition - Sophia RE: TAMUC - Sophia advanced hours - bjcheung77 - 01-10-2024 Welcome to the board, nice introduction, but you've missed the more important info in the addendum and template. Please update us with the info asked for in the addendum/template. Have you looked at the WIKI plans already available? Your best option is to apply, get the credits transferred and see what else is remaining. I wish I knew to take that at Sophia for an upper level elective! I think you made a new discovery! Congratulations! RE: TAMUC - Sophia advanced hours - bjcheung77 - 01-11-2024 Basically, I would review this thread for TAMUC CBE options if you're looking for something other than the Organizational Leadership, I would still recommend the BAAS Organizational Leadership over anything else, including the Bachelors in General Studies. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-TAMUC-Competency-Based-Program-List Here's the TAMUC BAAS Organizational Leadership plan WIKI, I would suggest transferring the max possible with Sophia.org first and see if anything else can come in through Study.com or another provider, then do the remaining residency credits through TAMUC. I'm starting the TAMUC BAAS in org leadership in the spring and was wondering if the 30 applied major credits count towards the 36 advanced hours listed under the degree requirements? I transferred in 17 of the 36 hours, and am knocking out the rest of my gen ed courses but im a bit confused on if i'll need to take extra upper level courses on top of the applied major courses. |
