experience applying to Fairmont State after Pierpont - staceydiane - 12-20-2023 I sent off my application to Fairmont State along with my transcripts from my old college as well as Pierpont. When I applied, I called the transfer counselor and asked if I also needed to send a Credly transcript. She said no. Well, today I got an email from the admissions department saying I in fact needed to send the Credly transcript, so I just did that. I also got another email from them saying I was not eligible for regular admission to Fairmont State and to send in some personal statement on their Academic Success form. Again I called the school to inquire and they told me that there was no separate set of standards for admission to the Regents Bachelor of Arts program. I am applying to Fairmont State because I live in WV and want to take advantage of in-state tuition. I guess I expected less of a hassle since I have the Pierpont AAS. RE: experience applying to Fairmont State after Pierpont - davewill - 12-20-2023 Any university is going to want original transcripts for transfer credit. I would consider it a good sign they want the Credly transcript, it means they are at least considering accepting some of your ACE credit. Yeah, I just wish they had told me that I needed Credly when I originally asked about it. I guess the counselor didn't know what she was talking about when she told me that I didn't. RE: experience applying to Fairmont State after Pierpont - bjcheung77 - 12-20-2023 You're just making your rounds and verifying everything is supposed to go through properly, sometimes one department or staff member may not know all that is required. This happens often at all institutions, people fall through the cracks, the main thing is you're getting to the starting line, hopefully the remaining classes would have less of a hassle... Looking forward to seeing you start! |
