Expired CompTIA Certs for Transfer - siersema - 12-18-2023

Does anyone know if WGU will take expired CompTIA certifications for transfer credit?  I’m considering the MS CSIA as an extra credential. I have the CySA and CASP, but both are expired.

I found the answer. The certifications need to be active and within the last 5 years.

Great, thanks for letting us know. Most certs are expected to be valid for institutions to evaluate, and some have a currency requirement of 5-7, up to 10 years.

WGU is pretty horrible for transferring in old credits.

Currently valid and earned/renewed within 5 years is pretty reasonable for IT certs.
