Fast RA Credit Options - User7364 - 12-11-2023
Hey Guys, I am looking for RA credits for my TESU - BSBA Finance. I want some options that are self paced - and I can do right away. I know about the TECEP, but I have to wait till next month for them. I need to graduate, hopefully, sooner than later. So I want some options that allow me to start right away, cost is not the issue. I am not looking for the cheapest; it just needs to be fastest and self-paced.
- Is ONU still an option?

ONU is no longer an option. Does the subject matter? Ohio University still has some credit-by-exam that would be RA. CPA Credits is another option for business courses.

Anything I can fill here, even electives - https://www.tesu.edu/business/undergraduate/bsba/finance - It will just push out the transfer credit. I plan to use a residency waiver as well, so I need to make up 27 RA credits..

For reference, the 27 RA credits you're referring to can be done elsewhere quickly at UMPI for just 1 session of $1500. My suggestion is the following, apply to UMPI today, send in your transcripts, start 1/16/2024 and finish UMPI BABA with a concentration of your choice (sadly, they don't have finance, they have accounting if you wanted something closer to finance). You technically need 21 extra RA credits if you're wanting to stay at TESU, as the cornerstone/capstone will take 6 credits. Apologies for the delayed response. I'm interested in continuing with the Finance program at TESU and am looking to accumulate RA credits. If I understand correctly, you're recommending that I complete these credits at UMPI and then transfer them to TESU, right?
Could you provide more details about how UMPI courses are structured? I'm curious to know if they're self-paced, whether exams are proctored or non-proctored, and the general workload in terms of assignments and other requirements. This information would be really helpful for my planning.
Also As a Canadian, should I follow the standard enrollment process for international students, or would it be more suitable for me to opt for the YourPace program? Could you clarify how this works?

There are no exams at UMPI. Every house has Milestones which are short answer essays. Then you have a Final Assessment which is a paper, project, or PowerPoint. It's different for every class.

@User7364, how far have you gone from last year to now with your Sophia.org and Study.com? Did you complete the spreadsheet with the help of the degree plan templates on the WIKI that was linked to you on the previous thread? Are you left with only the 27 RA credits plus the cornerstone, capstone requirements at TESU?
1) I'm telling you to do the BABA Accounting at UMPI and finish the degree, transfer all credits to TESU and only do the capstone from them, everything should be from Sophia.org and Study.com for remaining BSBA Finance, this would be a second degree (if you need it).
2) UMPI are all assignments, assessments, writing now, no more exams, they are competency based, so you're paying by the session, not the number of courses you take, if you complete more classes, it's potentially cheaper if you can do them all in one or two sessions.
3) There are many Canadians and other international students, you apply to the YourPace program, using their link on the webpage. Just follow their prompts when applying...
Here's a thought, I suggest either skipping TESU BSBA Finance in favor of a Masters, something like UMPI BABA Accounting, UMPI MAOL, and get any Coursera and Edx Accounting, Finance, and related certificates, this is to max your certs, degree, experience trifecta I tell people about.

I have completed all required courses except for the 27 RA credits. I am open to pushing out some other courses to accommodate these credits and plans and later covering the pushed-out courses through platforms like Sophia or Study.com.
My current goal is to identify sources for these RA credits that offer self-paced learning and minimal assignments. I aim to graduate at Thomas Edison State University before the late filing deadline in February.

TECEPs are your easiest bet right now, you can take a few of them all at once when you register... You can also do a flat rate with the PLA-1010, that course alone gives you 12 credits, if you do the flat rate with the PLA-1010, you get a total of 27 credits max in that one term. Amazing, eh!

TECEPs or Arizona State University Universal Learner classes are typically the fastest/easiest/cheapest RA credits for a TESU degree. There are also XAMK credits, but those aren't always self-paced and they can be slow to obtain.
