Extension Schools for Credit Transfer - Tobutz - 12-11-2023

Hey does anyone know of an extension school (online arm of an established university residential program / good "brand") that offers credit-bearing courses without requiring proctoring?

I'm also open to international options as long as the courses are conducted in English. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked on any institutions that you're interested in to see if they have options for you? Do you have a short list created yourself? It's great you're asking questions like you did on your previous thread, but as you did on the last thread, you've not provided much details on what and why you're looking for these... furthermore, you're not reviewing your previous thread to answer questions... It's better to provide a bigger overall picture of what you're trying to do instead of getting people to complete a puzzle without all the pieces. Hey bjcheung77, so far, I've explored the extension schools at the Universitys of California. However, they seem more profit-oriented, and most classes are live, which doesn't work for me. I've also considered well-known options like Purdue Global and UMass Global. My concern is that their transcripts include 'Global,' which might not be ideal for my situation:

I'm currently enrolled in a draconic ^^ European university, which I find quite restrictive. My goal is to transfer credits back to this institution. I'm close to completing my degree but need to pass one or two classes I've previously failed. Our university's policy is quite strict: failing a class twice can result in expulsion and a ban from studying the same field at any public university in the country. Hence, I'm looking for online courses abroad.

I've reviewed the previous thread and appreciate the insights. However, I'm hesitant to share extensive personal information due to the niche nature of my degree and the size of my university. I hope this gives a clearer picture of my situation and what I'm looking for in an online program!

Great update, it's a clearer picture, but again, the info just isn't complete enough. Here's an example of how you're trying to explain things. You're telling us what you're trying to do, but not providing enough details, such as the most important things: Subject matter you want to transfer in, such as Business, IT, Health, whatever these subject courses are you're looking to transfer. Again, good update, but no addition info to help us help you...

Another thing is, the budget, if it's self-paced or not, CBE, traditional course, etc. Without these details, it's not possible for anyone, even senior members/moderators to assist you further. Your best bet is to do your own homework as you know what you need and how to look for it. You can review all the 'extension' schools, find the subjects you need and the costs, and create a spreadsheet to find out which one suits you most. Good luck, have fun.

"failing a class twice can result in expulsion and a ban from studying the same field at any public university in the country. Hence, I'm looking for online courses abroad."
Smart move!

So Arizona State U. Universal Learner classes are $25 to enroll and $400 to transcript once you're done with the class and happy with the grade. If you bomb the class, just don't transcript it and you're only out $25. You could take it again for a better grade or try something different.  You can go here https://ea.asu.edu/courses/ and filter by non-proctored courses.

Almost all of them are asynchronous if not all. Some are a little instructor-led/hands-on and others are kind of more on "autopilot." Lot of variety between general ed stuff, major classes and upper-level credit. (Not sure if that's a thing in your country.) Some I found to be very easy, and others I found to be more labor-intensive.

It's a very good, well-funded public state school with a solid reputation. Hopefully you can find what you need here to fill in your degree requirements.
