Anyone done a Level 7 Diploma - bennyoftheD - 12-09-2023

I’m keen to hear people experience with the level 7 diploma. I’ve seen a lot of post about them but could not find anyone’s first hand experience with them on the forum or Google
  • Is the online courses video content or mostly reading?
  • Would be good to hear how it compares to ENEB.
Considering doing a Level 7 diploma and then ladder up to an MBA of Finance degree.

Would appreciate any insights people have?

Hmm, I missed this thread for some reason or another, anyways, you may want to do a search for Level 7 Diploma options, I've created a few threads on them. For the level 7 option, you can go for the ENEB MBA/Masters combo and get an evaluation in the UK. In brief, I actually would recommend doing it a little differently, instead of a Level 7 (as I mentioned earlier), go for the level 8, specifically this one here for 'top-up' options later in Canada, UK/US: https://lcft.org.uk/level-8-diploma-in-strategic-management-and-leadership-practice/

May I ask which US/Canada University accept level 8 ? ( except Westcliff University - which delivered via their UAE partner)

All institutions would require an evaluation done to make sure the studies are sufficient to be transferred in, there are a few ABD (all but dissertation programs), and several more that will take 50% of the courses transferred.  Nationally Accredited ones from DEAC such as Apollos, TRACS such as IAULA, and then you have the rare UK ones that will take them as well.

Athabasca up to 50% transfer: https://www.athabascau.ca/calendar/graduate/fb/doctor-of-business-administration.html#admissionrequirements
Baker College up to 50% transfer: https://www.baker.edu/academics/graduate-studies/college-of-business/dba-abd/

Has anyone used Oxford Home Study Center?  https://www.oxfordhomestudy.com The website is a little disjointed and registration seems to be broken right now, but if I read everything correctly I think all of their diplomas are only 120 quid. Many fields have QLS Level 7 Diplomas available. That would be an incredible value for 120 pounds.

But they are not accredited, no?

I am doing a Level 7 OTHM Diploma. They are definitely part of the UK framework the problem is you need to find a university that will accept it as credit. Some programs are "top up", which means you turn up with your level 7 Diploma and you just finish the remaining credits to get a master's. These are pretty hard to find though, and not available in all subjects.

That's correct, they're not accredited.  There are plenty of frameworks in the UK like this one that are not authorized by OfQual!
If you wanted to search for the 'QLS' as an awarding body, they didn't make the list from here: https://www.gov.uk/check-awarding-body-recognised

Heck, they may be the same Oxford I mentioned about a price error as well: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Pricing-Error-LRN-Level-7-Diploma-in-Business-Management
We also have a thread on the sister board from 2021: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/uk-level-system-masters-equivalent.59694/

Level 7 Diploma vs Postgraduate Diploma - What’s the catch? - lincolnlawyer - 02-20-2024

After scouring through the forum for answers to a question unrelated to this thread, I came across the term Level 7/Level 8 Diploma several times. AFAIK Level 8 is doctoral studies so it’s a different story, but Level 7 in the UK OFQUAL system is essentially Master’s level.

So what is the difference between a Level 7 diploma and a postgraduate diploma?

I do see a general trend that universities tend to name their programs “postgraduate diploma”, whereas education providers such as LSIB or Cambridge Management and Leadership School tend to name their programs “level 7 diploma”.

Are there any difference in the two? Are they recognized equally outside the UK?

(I’m not sure if I posted this in the right place, sorry if I didn’t!)

But in the next link  they're using  (SCQF Level 8) equal to (  level 5 RQF)  which is less then master
