UMPI English degree planning - NJgirl - 11-06-2023

The following are the 19 courses that I need to complete a UMPI degree in English/Communications/Journalism.

Is this the most efficient way to get these credits?

How does UMPI My Pace work? is registration ongoing throughout a semester? Do you sign up for multiple classes at a time, or just one at a time? Does this look like it could be completed in 1 or 2 sessions? I will be a full time student, not working, no other big obligations until I finish school.

Registration for YourPace sessions needs to be confirmed something like 2-3 weeks before the current session ends. It's not (always) automatic. I think some students have forgotten to confirm and didn't get access to the next session. Some didn't confirm and remained enrolled for the next session, IIRC. Always remember to confirm, just to be safe.

You can have up to two YourPace classes active at once. When you submit your final, you can ask for a third one to be opened up.

It's theoretically possible that you could finish in 1 or 2 sessions. Other students have obtained other degrees in 1 or 2 sessions. However, I believe 2-3 sessions is more likely. There is a small chance it could run to 4 sessions, but if you're doing UMPI full time, I think that's relatively unlikely.

Perfect. Thank you!

YourPace is exactly that, you got at a comfy self-paced style of learning to make sure you complete the requirements of the classes. It's best to complete the Sophia.org and Study.com classes before you start your session at UMPI, you do not want to have multiple subscriptions open, so complete Sophia.org first, then Study.com, and lastly, work on your UMPI classes. You should gauge how comfy you're going to guess the speed it will take you to complete a class at UMPI. UMPI classes aren't easy/hard per say, it's similar to Sohpia.org/Study.com classes with assignments or touchstones.

That's a great plan, thank you.
