Bio 2 LAB only - GameSlinger - 09-11-2023

I am thinking that if I do the 16 credit semester, I would add the ASNSM - Biology degree to my plan. I would have all of it covered for the most part but I am not sure where to find a Biology 2 Lab only. Everywhere I see it listed, it requires simultaneously taking the Biology 2 course. I have Bio 1 & 2 covered with the Biology CLEP already, so I only need the lab portion.

Any ideas?

TESU is your best option. Have it be your 1cr course (although you only need a 15cr term now). You'll have to pay for the lab itself - make sure you order it prior to the semester starting, it takes a while to come in.

I don't see a Bio 2 lab available at TESU. They state that Bio2 needs to be transferred in.

Typically you'd have to get permission from a school to waive Bio 2. Generally the department head has to consider the coursework you've done. You could ask New Mexico Junior College and others. NMJC is one of the cheapest.

Luna CC has a bunch of online standalone labs for $48/credit for up to 6 credits out of state

They have bio1 lab listed as BIOL1111L and bio2 lab listed as BIOL2110L. It appears that bio1 lab is only offered in the Fall and bio2 lab is only offered in the Spring.

Course Schedule - https://luna.edu/schedule
Course Catalog - https://luna.edu/catalogs

As mentioned above, NMJC is also a good option but a little more expensive at $75/credit + $20/credit course fee + $40 per course fee = Roughly $135 for a 1 credit online course out of state

That looks like a good option. I didn't see how the lab was taught, but there is a distance education version available.

more importantly, did you happen to see the cost per credit for anyone over age of 55? Only $5 per credit hour. Talk about a senior discount.
