I owe so much to this forum - bobbymo - 08-26-2023

I just submitted my final assessment tonight at UMPI, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone here for sharing so much knowledge and support. I know I am not an active poster, but I spent so much time reviewing this forum.

It's rare to find things in the world nowadays that deliver life changing value, and this forum is absolutely one of them. I would have never known about UMPI, ACE credits, or anything else that would have allowed me to reach this point if it were not for DegreeForum.

It all started back in November when I was offered a great job opportunity with a new company, and I had to tell them that I did not have a college degree. Fortunately, they didn't mind, but I had others who had rejected me in the past due to this. Upon getting that job, I told myself that I would erase this worry from my mind. A handful of Google searches later, I discovered TESU and this forum. But I knew I wanted a degree from an accredited school with a brick and mortar campus and with a name that sounds like a real school. UMPI was the only one that checked all three of those boxes for me.

After some delay, I got started in April, knocking out 12 Sophia courses in 3 weeks. Between Sophia and my transfer credits, I needed to complete 11 courses at UMPI, which I managed to complete all in the Summer 2 semester. Pending grades, I should have my BABA MLS on the way!

I can't thank you all enough. Now I'm going to register for my SHRM-SCP certification test ($200 cheaper thanks to my student discount!) this fall. And after that, I'd like to look at BU's Questrom online MBA program (if they'll accept a UMPI grad). We'll see!

But I owe it all to this forum. For those who might read this in the future, don't overthink it. Use the plans on the Wiki. Create a spreadsheet. Start knocking out Sophia credits. Momentum is key. This went by faster and was easier than I would've ever guessed. You can do this.

Congrats! Wow! Great job in getting those 11 courses done in 1 session...
Cool, I noticed you did a quick review of each of those 11 courses as well...
Thank you for sharing your experience!
