NEWBIE - ACCOUNTING QUESTIONS - bburris2906 - 08-24-2023

Hi there!

I'm looking into transferring to UMPI Your Pace program for accounting.

I already have my associates in accounting. I also currently work in accounting.

Can someone give me some pointers?

-How difficult is the accounting program?
-Are finals exams, papers, or projects (excel) mostly?

What kind of time frame did you complete a upper level course is?
What's the longest it took you to complete a course that may have taken longer due to difficulty?

Were any external resources helpful?
-Chegg
-Quizlet
-Study.com

Really just trying to figure out if this is for me

UMPI should be entirely papers/projects now with zero exams. All resources you need for a course should be within the course itself, not other sites. This is different than if you want to transfer in a few UL accounting credits from Study.com to make the program go faster.

Make sure you have GEC requirements met before applying! You need, at bare minimum, a foreign language, a physical science, and a biological science. One of the sciences needs a lab. If you don't have these with your prior associate degree, Sophia can fill in these gaps.

Chegg and Quizlet won't help as there aren't exams. You'll be completing accounting problems, tax returns, etc.

@bburris2906, Welcome to the board, it's great you're asking questions and providing us the minor detail that you've got an Associates... However, we don't know what courses you've taken, budget, commitments, study habits you have... The questions you're asking is also very subjective as it will differ for everyone due to the reasons I mentioned above. Please fill in the addendum/template here to give us a full picture and overview of your situation: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works
