please help me choose remaining classes - rvm - 08-16-2023

Hi All,

I've been on this forum for over 10 years and I'm finally in the home stretch - starting UMPI next session.  My kids are finally adults and I've finally saved enough money to pay cash for up to 3 terms at UMPI.  ... Finally .... LOL!

I applied to UMPI on 2nd July.  I  had my interview 2 weeks later and received my acceptance letter 2 days after my interview.

Today, I received an email from Jessica saying they would review my transcripts, provide a credit evaluation and let me know which classes I need at some point in September - 2 to 6 weeks away.

I'd like to take a few additional classes at Sophia to make sure I reach my goal of 90 credits to transfer in, as well as fulfill all my non-UMPI requirements.

I know there are links to wiki pages with UMPI credits, however, I have two 20+ year old, RA, computer-related classes and two DSSTs which are not listed in the transfer database - "Here's to Your Health" and "Personal Finance",  Anyone know if UMPI will accept they as transfer credits?

Additionally, I'm so very confused by UMPI's credit matrix where different classes can be used to meet different requirements and sometimes more than one requirement.

Would you help me choose my last few Sophia classes, please?

I created a spreadsheet with classes that I have completed, classes in progress at Sophia and some UMPI classes.

Career History:  > 20 years in IT

Age: > 40

My Goals:  BLS-MIS.  Grad School is a possibility though it will likely be a different field.

Time to Commit:  varies greatly each week due to work and personal/family needs

Thank you!

If you have no knowledge whether UMPI will accept the two DSSTs, "Here's to Your Health" and "Personal Finance" DSSTs, I will assume they won't accept these classes as transfer credits.

I
'm still confused about which classes to choose to fulfill Learning Objectives deficiencies?

I've read their website over and over and I still don't understand if I met their Learning Objectives requirements or not?

If I have, then I can take a few Sophia classes to reach my 90 credits or simply finish off my Google IT Support certification.

I am planning to take Eng I, Eng II and American Government at UMPI.  Aside from those 3 Gen Eds, I'd love to be able to avoid a notification from UMPI saying my credit evaluation shows I have not met all my learning objectives and I need to complete more than 30 credit hours at UMPI.

I'd love to receive some suggestions from you guys!

Thank you!

@Duneranger, thank you!  Looks like a win for Personal Finance.

I found a chart someone had posted with Sophia credits that meet UMPI's GEC Learning Objectives.  I added three new columns to my spreadsheet for: UMPI's GEGs, the Sophia Equivalents and my classes that either seem to fulfill the requirements or possibly might fulfill the requirements.

If anyone would like to chime in to help me answer if my current credits will likely work for a few of the requirements, I would be grateful.  I used orange text for those textboxes so there are only a few entries to checkout, if you are so inclined to assist.

Thanks in Advance!
