HTY 489 History of Infectious Disease - Mcroberson - 07-21-2023

Anyone taken it? Care to share what it’s like?

This course is new to YourPace. I haven't seen anyone talk about it on any social platforms.

Well dang, I don’t want to be the Guinea pig.

I looked at it and thought it would be interesting.  At least if we knew who was teaching it, I might be willing to try it.

How does a withdraw impact gpa at UMPI towards the end of the semester?  I wouldn't want to risk something dropping my GPA if I can't get it finished.

Can't you withdraw it with no grade impact if it's only been open for a day or so?

Depends on the dates. There are add/drop limits in YourPace. There's a withdrawal deadline as well.

I signed up for it at the beginning of this term and went through all the available material, which includes an hour-long documentary and some readings spanning diseases like the plague, malaria, and COVID-19. I think it was two milestones and then the final submission. It is by Dr. Z, and I'd say it's comparable to HTY 370 Arab-Israeli Conflict in terms of both structure and workload.
