Pierpont help - Ebroady23 - 07-17-2023

How to send sophia and community college transcripts to pierpont and is it still free? Also is the process the same for a highschooler who wants to dual enroll.

RE: Pierpont help - rachel83az - 07-17-2023

Pierpont cannot be used by a high school student. Students must be at least 21 and have graduated 2+ years ago.

Sending CC transcripts to Pierpont is probably not going to be free. Most transcription services charge $5-25 per transcript. The Pierpont degree itself, however, is still free. If your CC insists on sending paper transcripts, the address for that is:

Pierpont Student Services
500 Galliher Drive
Fairmont WV 26554

Sophia transcripts through Credly are free. Make sure your Credly account has all of your Sophia credits. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sophia.org_Credly_Process The email address to send both CC and Sophia transcripts to Pierpont is listed here https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ordering_Credly_Transcripts

For the AAS Board of Governors, it is "graduated 2+ years ago", but not age 21. A 20 year old who graduated at age 18 is eligible for example.

"This degree program is open to any student who has graduated from high school two or more years prior; students who earned a High School Equivalency Exam Certificate are welcome to enroll if their assigned graduating class has been out of high school two years or more."

For current high school students:
Dual enroll in that case would mean a high school student wishing to take courses from Pierpont. That is a different issue from the AAS Board of Governors, and is addressed on Pierpont's website on this part https://www.pierpont.edu/admissions/high-school-programs/

Thank you so much for the clarity. I see that they use national clearing house for transcripts but I can't send sophia that way.

It doesn't matter how Pierpont sends their own transcripts. They accept Credly transcripts as outlined in the links above.

Hmm... Just wondering, is this for you or for someone else? Spend some time reviewing the WIKI for the BOG AAS... A Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis in something you're interested in might be a very good choice.

Having said that, if you're just a course or two away from the local community college associates and those courses can be CLEP/MS for free, that would be my recommendation instead, as it wouldn't cost anything more (not even transcripts to send in like Pierpont).

BTW, Your previous post is in regards to getting a Bachelors and UMPI seems to be your best bet... You may want to revisit this thread and provide more feedback if at all possible. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Need-help-UMPI

I told my stepkids about the Pierpont BOG and they are jealous because they don't qualify, lol. The three of them graduated from high school last month and they're starting college next month at Blue Ridge, another one of the WV community colleges.

You're mixing up a couple of different things:
1) the Pierpont BOG AAS degree is not available for high school students, you had to have graduated 2 years ago to get it
2) Pierpont offers Dual Enrollment (DE) courses and is a STEAL at $25/cr!!!  If your state doesn't have a cheaper option, this is a great one!
