TAMUC Org Leadership-six UL credits needed - StoicJ - 06-06-2023 My SO got her transcript eval back from TAMUC. She has 0 upper-level credits. Needs 36. The major has 10 applied major courses (30 credits) she needs to complete, but they are requiring the 6 UL ELECTIVE credits be completed before moving on to the 10 major courses. She will call advising this week, but I am wondering if anyone here has transferred any Study.com upper-level courses into this program. Thinking of maybe knocking out 6 UL credits for a couple hundred bucks before her first term starts. FWIW, she had 109 RA credits transfer in. 84 lower-level were matched to requirements (TX govt included), so what's left are the 30 major UL, plus 6 elective UL (referred to as "Professional Development Electives"). 1 of the credits that counted towards Profesisonal Development was a 1-hr Fitness Walking course, so perhaps there's some wiggle room here. RE: TAMUC Org Leadership-six UL credits needed - teejayb - 06-07-2023 With the uncertainty of them taking upper level ACE credits, I would just look at knocking out two UL classes at TAMUC. This requirement was made as I was in the middle of the degree. I recommend CID 338 for sure. Followed by CID 347 (6 assignments at two paragraphs each) or ORLG 431. 338 took me a day and a half to complete. She was looking to complete 2 courses in the first 7-wk term. Looks like 3 is very doable, and perhaps even 4. RE: TAMUC Org Leadership-six UL credits needed - teejayb - 06-07-2023 4 is extremely doable. I think I did 6 my last 7-week semester (capstones included). Each course took me about 15-20 hours on average to complete (some were way longer, some shorter) Waiting for instructor grades/feedback is really the biggest thing that slows you down. RE: TAMUC Org Leadership-six UL credits needed - fromthedepths - 06-07-2023 I'm doing the first term there and am on my 5th class: PSCI-2306 - Texas Government CID-388 - Talent Leadership - HR CID-342 - Leading Innovations ORGL-3311 - Foundations of Org ORGL-3321 - Org Communication So far, the longest class was PSCI-2306 because the instructor took a bit of time for grading. Everything else has been quick and smooth. CID-388 was completed over a weekend, but probably could have been finished in a day. Same with CID-342. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions. Were the post-tests the only graded parts of CIDs 388 and 342? Nevermind, saw a recent syllabus that says 342 has a test and business project, though the project doesn't sound so bad. The business project was an easy fill in guide that took a few hours. I was sent an email a few weeks ago that said students are limited to 5 courses in one term. I would be ecstatic to learn that's not a hard rule. I was planning on five this term and five next term but fell off track due to supporting my fiancé through bar prep while simultaneously dealing with a family crisis. Also registered for Research Methods, which I learned (after the semester began) is NOT a course recommended for acceleration. That might be something new they implemented. TAMUC seems to be changing things up as they go.
