BLS Question - klone - 05-17-2023

Do I need a BABA if I want to get the MAOL from UMPI, or can I get a BLS and then apply?

BLS vs. BABA - klone - 05-18-2023

Has anyone been able to land a good job with a BLS - Management Minor? I am currently serving active duty Air Force and want to get out but am waiting until I have earned a Bachelors. I would be able to get a BLS quicker than a BABA, that is why I am curious to hear others success stories with a BLS from UMPI.

Almost everyone will be able to get a BLS more quickly than a BABA - half of the degree is electives.

That being said, I wouldn't compare yourself to others. You won't have the same work experience as anyone else, so it's impossible to determine why exactly someone gets a job (it's normally a combination of things). Instead, I'd ask, what is the degree I need for the jobs I want? Go look at those jobs, and see what degrees they're asking for (if any). If they want "any" degree, then go get a BLS. But if they want a business degree, then go get that instead. If you have little to no experience, you're MUCH better off with a business degree than a BLS. If you have 10 or 15 years of experience in a field, then it may not matter.

You can get the BLS from UMPI and then move on to the MAOL at UMPI.

Outside of higher ed, my guestimation is 8 of 10 potential employers won't care as long as you have a 4-year diploma. Just decide whether that 20% remaining matters.

That's probably so general as to be worthless.  It really depends on the field, and the job.

Like I said, go find out what the jobs you're looking at are asking for.  That's the only way to know what kind of degree you should get.

There is no specific bachelor's degree required to get your MAOL from UMPI.

@klone, anyone of the two would do for you, my suggestion is to take all the courses that interest you in the BLS-Management, you'll have extra space to add another minor and courses you want to take... You don't need a specific degree for the MAOL, in fact, for most Masters, it's the same.

You just need to make sure the prerequisites are completed on route to that Bachelors degree. Advice goes in various directions, you pick how you do things, here's an example thread from last week, take your time and decide for yourself: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Advise-please-seeking-business-degree

BLS - Management - klone - 05-21-2023

Can someone please post a picture of their BLS Management diploma? I need motivation.

Not exactly what you're looking for, a Mod went from UMPI BABA, UMPI MAOL, to VUL DHA... Inspiring at a different level...
