Residency waiver beyond graduation - gams007 - 05-17-2023
My question is if I pay the residency waiver and I graduate from any degree, and later I decide to do another degree do I need to pay again for the residency waiver?
I read that it is valid for a total of 15 months, but I can not find where it's clarified if it's valid for another another degree.

It really depends what your situation is, it's a bit late to tell you to reschedule graduation until you finish your Associates like I did here, I mentioned it's optimal to graduate your associates and bachelors all at the same time: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-3-more-Sophia-Lab-Sciences-coming?pid=387290#pid387290

From looking at your previous thread, you've already paid your residency waiver fee and completed the BACS, you should be done with your ASNSM Comp Sci/Math combo already, is there another degree you're looking at? https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Capstone-project-Done?pid=391593#pid391593
My suggestion is, email academic advising to graduate you with the ASNSM and the BACS at the same time. I don't know if you have outstanding courses remaining but Calc I and other math courses required for the BACS should have been enough for your ASNSM Math.

IIRC, you currently have 15 TESU credits. If you pay the waiver now, then come back later for a degree that requires a different capstone (such as a BSBA), you'll have 18 credits and the waiver is unnecessary.

Not really sure what your situation is, if I recall, you have 9 TESU residency credits as you dropped a couple of courses from the 15 credit course load... You can take another term with them if you're going for a secondary degree, say a BSBA with a concentration of your choice. But again, I would recommend getting all your associates, certs and the BACS at once for one grad fee and residency waiver, skip the BSBA or the second degree until you really think it's needed. At the moment, I would focus on the graduate option instead.

I'm waiting for their response regarding the residency waiver, I really need the graduation because I already enrolled in the master degree from UOC and it is going to start at the end of September 2023 so the TESU next graduation cycle is in September I need this diploma legalized and apostille to be recognized on time. I'm not sure if TESU do the apostille or is a third party is the one I have to contact to do this process, I found some info regarding this issue on this link.

<gasp> Did you apply for June graduation or September? For June, if you applied on time and sent in all transcripts by May 1, you're right on the buzzer... I think September graduation would be too tight of a schedule when the OUC program starts at the end of September.

bjcheung77, I apply for June graduation, but It was heavy to finish the ASBA, so the graduation coordinator told me If after graduate I can not send a transcript later with pending credits done with a finished date showing before graduation, TESU policy said you are required to bring 12 new credits otherwise TESU will not accept older credits. He emails me yesterday to talk with an advisor to make a decision, my dilemma is if the residency waiver will be still valid after graduation. If they reply positive I will graduate for the bachelor in June, and later I do the associate degree.
I pay the residency waiver because If I start a term now it will be too late for the September graduation, and I do not want to continue wasting time I was expecting to finish this bachelor degree almost 18 months ago, but since TESU to a lot of changes making it more complicated and expensive to get a degree complete with alternative credits, I started taking courses through several online community colleges that bring the cost for finishing this bachelor degree more expensive. Now I got a good opportunity the UOC university has the cybersecurity degree way cheaper than if I do it through the USA, WGU does not accept international student and TESU is going to cost $20K and UOC gives me 45% off for the tuition because I have a European nationality. I receive the tuition price 3313.20 euro for the whole master degree, and it is an Official diploma they even do the whole process to legalize and apostille the document to be recognized anywhere.

I am so confused. Why would anyone get a BACS and then go BACK (and pay a lot) to get the ASNSM and ASBA degrees? That seems like a waste of time AND money.
And yes, if you get a bachelor's degree, then you would have to pay the residency waiver again (those associates degrees don't have a capstone, and the cornerstone is done, so you'd just be paying $3288 for the residency waiver).

My friend I mean I already pay the residency waiver for my BACS, I just want to confirm if I do not need later to pay this again if I want to finished the pending ASNSM, If TESU comes and say that I have to pay for this again, forget it, I will never do it, I will run away it's a robbery, they say it is valid for 15 months so I expect after graduation it continue to be valid for 15 months. I email the advisor waiting for his response.

@gams007, as I mentioned above, focus on your Masters, get whatever you need for OUC done since you've been admitted. TESU regulations indicate the 15 months for the Associates if you're going to get a first Bachelors afterwards. You're doing the opposite, getting a first Bachelors then the Associates. It should still work as the associates is supposed to be done first and on route to the Bachelors, it's going to be interesting to what they say though, I'm pretty sure you're alright. Just sit tight and be ready...
