WGU, I think, is the best college for teaching practical skills.

However, since the IT program relies on doing lots of certifications, you can achieve something similar at other colleges if you do certifications while getting your degree or afterward.

Only three of the IT degrees are heavy in certifications, and several of those have moved to a WGU exam followed by an optional voucher for the certification. The other four range from very light to moderate:

What is rare to find anywhere else is the nearly 100% self-paced curriculum combined with the value of the subscription model and a relatively generous transfer policy, despite having no free electives.

Interesting... That's pretty good for WGU, I noticed a few other schools listed as well... WGU is great for the 4 industries that they're in, Business, Computers/IT, Education/Teaching, Health/Nursing - they're very good for competency based education.

For the value of all the certificates you get, and considering how HR demands a bunch of basic certs already, WGU imo is probably #1 or close to it in IT, cyber security, and cloud. There's really not too much else value to derive from college for those degrees without certificates coming into play and they make as much or more of a difference. It just seems like a waste of time to get an IT degree anywhere else unless the school is really hands on with job fairs and internships.
