The Master Propio - ukmercenary - 03-27-2023 Hello All I am new here and yes I did try the search function but didn't really find what I was looking for. I am considering doing a Masters's Degree in Product management. In the UK a Master of Science is well recognised or Msc. I found what I thought was the perfect course https://barcelonatechnologyschool.com/master/master-in-digital-product-management/ However have been told this isn't an official Masters it is a "The Master Propio https://www.saera.eu/en/differences-between-master-oficial-and-propio/ The odd thing is they are charging 15000 Euro for this non-official course for other Master's Degrees in the UK I have seen for about £10,000! I do really love the content in the course but don't want to do a worthless master with a massive debt. Any advice? RE: The Master Propio - rachel83az - 03-28-2023 That's a ridiculous price. If you're going with an unofficial Master's, I'd just go with an inexpensive ENEB one or two for under a thousand dollars/pounds/euros. IMO, in most countries, a Propio is probably not going to be worth more than (say) $/€/£5k. You can find official degrees starting at around that price point. I'm not aware of any Product Management degrees specifically, but I'm sure that someone here will know of at least one. RE: The Master Propio - ukmercenary - 03-28-2023 ok I would agree the price is stupidly high for an unofficial masters. Apparently, it is worth 60 ECTs I asked the Open University and they said for example 60 ECTs would be worth 120OU Credits and their Master's is equivalent to 180 Credits. As Product Management is a fairly new area I haven't found any equivalent Master's, but if anyone knows of one please let me know. I will look into the other courses you mention. I was also considering this course https://www.kcl.ac.uk/short-courses/kings-product-management-career-accelerator but again it's just a certification and at 6k for 6 months is very expensive. I'm very keen to get out of IT Support which I have been doing for 20 years ... I never want to work on another IT Helpdesk! The prices are also very good, you can check this other university https://www.universidadviu.com/es/, all the exams are proctored, and they upload pre-recording live session of the mentors exposing the course material in case you do not have to chance to be in the virtual classroom. RE: The Master Propio - bjcheung77 - 03-28-2023 @ukmercenary, BTS (no, not the Korean band) is using a dot bomb... err, a dot com domain. Initially, I thought it would be an unaccredited diploma mill until I clicked the link. It is somewhat expensive for a non official Masters, have you looked up any UK Level 7 Diploma and Masters Top-Up option for Masters in Product Management? I think that route may be the cheapest, easiest, and fastest for a valid UK Masters... If you're looking outside the UK and know another language such as Spanish, then the Spanish options listed or other ones listed in the graduate subforum may work as well. I can read some Spanish, but if there is a live or presentation exam, I definitely won't pass RE: The Master Propio - bjcheung77 - 03-30-2023 @ukmercenary, have you zoomed in on exactly Product Management? Are you open to other degrees such as a very similar Project Management? As you mentioned earlier, there are PM options already for about $10-15K British Pounds, are you specifically looking for online? |
