Apply to UMPI now and take classes later. - HappyPeanut - 02-15-2023 Hey everyone. I decided to work on BIO+Lab at Sophia because I have time this week to complete it. I want to begin taking classes at UMPI during the summer or fall. Can I send my transcripts over with my current credits to begin my application process now? Are there any additional classes I should take? Thanks everyone! Currently taking BIO+Lab Classes have finished so far. Yes, in fact, it can take 2-3 months just to get your transcripts evaluated by UMPI, and then you will choose the session in which you want to start. I applied this past weekend, but I'm still taking sophia classes. I figured it will take a while for them to get all of it processed and I just won't commit to a start date until I have finished w sophia and study.com classes. Keeps me on track to get them done asap! But man, I wish I had as many done as you do. You are rocking over there! I've only got 34 credits done so far. lol RE: Apply to UMPI now and take classes later. - bjcheung77 - 02-15-2023 Take your time and continue with your Sophia.org and other credits, apply to UMPI and send what you've got to them for evaluation. Earlier is better as some people fell through the cracks the previous session or two ago, and they applied up to two months in advance... UMPI application advice - HappyPeanut - 03-06-2023 Hello everyone! I want to begin the UMPI application process. I am wondering if I should be aware of anything. Should I write an application letter? Fill out the online application and send them everything they request such as college and high school transcripts. RE: UMPI application advice - bjcheung77 - 03-09-2023 Just one word of advice, maximize your transfer credit, up to 90. You can apply now and continue with Sophia.org courses you've NOT taken yet. Make sure to get ALL the general education requirements and you can get the other credits as free electives. Here's the Gen Eds: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UMPI_!General_Education_Requirements_Roadmap Note: At the bottom of the link, it'll have UMPI as a hyperlink, this is where all the 'pages' are for UMPI, select a degree and complete all the requirements that can be done with Sophia.org before you move to another provider. For example, you want an UMPI BLS MIS option, there is a link for that and other minors available... again, complete up to 90 credits entirely with Sophia.org by following the WIKI plans. High School Transcripts and resume - HappyPeanut - 03-22-2023 Hey guys i just applied to UMPI and excited to start. The UMPI Staff requires me to send my high school transcripts and a resume. What should the resume include? Can anyone give me examples on how to make one? Thank you! RE: High School Transcripts and resume - jsd - 03-22-2023 https://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Resume It doesn't need to be anything great, you're not applying for a job. you don't need to stand out and beat the job competition, you just need a basic resume. I have not seen UMPI require a resume for admissions. You need high school transcripts unless you've completed a degree such as an associate degree. When you say UMPI staff, who specifically are we talking about? I ask because the enrollment counselors are not UMPi staff and are a hired third party who act as sales people who know very little about UMPI especially YourPace. |
