Software Engineering alternative - mt_1994 - 03-12-2023 Guys is this a class that I have to take as an UL? I’m looking for something else I can take instead of that class that’s not at TESU. I heard study.com won’t be taken for that class so is there an alternative? RE: Software Engineering alternative - Pats20 - 03-12-2023 It’s an elective. So no you don’t have to take it as an upper level. But you do need to meet the upper level credit requirements, so you can choose another upper level course instead of that one. RE: Software Engineering alternative - dfrecore - 03-12-2023 If it's for a BACS, then your best bet is to take SDC's COMPSCI 307: Software Engineering which comes in as CIS-251 and counts as a GE (Science) or as an AoS elective, and then take the exam at Saylor for $5 to get the UL credit you need (CS302: Software Engineering comes in as CIS-351). Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. RE: Software Engineering alternative - mt_1994 - 03-12-2023 (03-12-2023, 07:05 PM)Pats20 Wrote: It’s an elective. So no you don’t have to take it as an upper level. I already took computer architecture. RE: Software Engineering alternative - dfrecore - 03-12-2023 (03-12-2023, 07:21 PM)mt_1994 Wrote:(03-12-2023, 07:05 PM)Pats20 Wrote: It’s an elective. SW Engineering (Saylor) BUS 303: Management Info Systems (SDC) COMPSCI 302: Systems Analysis & Design (SDC) COMPSCI 303: Database Management (SDC) RE: Software Engineering alternative - gams007 - 03-12-2023 (03-12-2023, 06:24 PM)mt_1994 Wrote: Guys is this a class that I have to take as an UL? My friend I currently taking the software engineering from TESU and its 12 written assignments is a lot of writing, I decides to take the one from Saylor 5 day ago and I passed the exam so I decide to withdraw this class I'm doing the cornerstone and capstone and it a lot of writing already I'm full saturated. My advice try to do the Saylor exam better. RE: Software Engineering alternative - spohara - 03-13-2023 Saylor is the alternative, but you can also find an upper level math/science for the additional AOS, then you'd just need a lower for the CS. dfrecrore has a good idea of doing the SDC course - I might have had an easier time with the Saylor exam if I did it that way. But doing Sys An from SDC+OOP+skimming the readings on Saylor should get you a passing score if all else fails. RE: Software Engineering alternative - rachel83az - 03-13-2023 Saylor is accepted as UL. Study.com is accepted as LL. I think the ACE changed on it in like 2021 or something, but no one had tried it because it wasn't listed anywhere as being accepted (or there just wasn't anyone who needed the course). I just transferred it in December, comes in as CIS-351, upper level.(03-12-2023, 07:26 PM)dfrecore Wrote:(03-12-2023, 07:21 PM)mt_1994 Wrote:(03-12-2023, 07:05 PM)Pats20 Wrote: It’s an elective.
