Ultimate UMPI Science Transfer Thread - joshua27 - 02-12-2023 Out of ignorance I totally messed up taking only the bare minimum of science credits requirred to transfer into UMPI. To that end I wanted to ensure no one makes the same mistake I did. You have two EASIEST options to fulfill Ged Ed requirements 3C, 3D and 3E which are listed below. There are other ways to do it, but these are the easiest, trust me. Biology Option: 3C - Human Biology @ Sophia.org 3D - Introduction to Enviromental Science @ Sophia.org 3E - Human Biology Lab @ Sophia.org Chemistry Option: 3C - Introduction to Nutrition @ Sophia.org 3D - Introduction to Chemsitry @ Sophia.org 3E - Introduction to Chemsitry Lab @ Sophia.org I have not taken Human Biology at Sophia so I cannot comment on its difficulty level, I have taken Chemistry and while it was very challenging, it was doable. The lab was very informative and I enjoyed it very much. Enviromental Science and Nutrition are cake walks. I hope this helps someone in the future and ultimately puts to bed the "how do I fulfill my Gen Ed science at UMPI?" debate. RE: Ultimate UMPI Science Transfer Thread - ss20ts - 02-12-2023 Human Biology was really easy. I haven't completed the lab. The actual course was nothing like high school bio. MUCH easier. Environmental Science was the first class I took on Sophia and wondered how it was an actual class because I was attending CSU Global at the time where I had far more work. I suppose each user will have to decide what they are most interested in also or if they are particularly averse to a subject of study. |
