Determining financial aid with Excelsior. - droog - 06-17-2008 I've been thinking about finally taking the plunge and enrolling with Excelsior to earn a degree through examination. However, whether I enroll at this point largely depends on how much financial aid I will be able to get. I applied through FAFSA, and FAFSA has provided my information to Excelsior. However, Excelsior is advising that they cannot process my financial aid information without enrolling first, and I don't want to enroll unless I have a general aid as to what my liability will be. With an EFC of 01452, and assuming I take the minimum six credit hours in semester, can anyone give me an idea as to how much would be covered if I enrolled with Excelsior? Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!!!! Drew Determining financial aid with Excelsior. - eyrobinson - 06-17-2008 Pretty much look at the cost of attendance. Subtract however much your EFC is and that's how much aid you would get. Most likely you would receive the Pell grant and the rest Federal loans. Once I establish a degree plan with them and they receive the aid, do they cut a check for the difference so I can apply it towards the tests? Thanks again for the help, it's MUCH appreciated!!!!!! But if you accept more financial aid than what you need, you can use the extra money towards the tests. |
