An Enrollment Specialist emailed me saying they were closing my file - upgrayedd - 01-03-2023

Wtf man

I've been in touch with Jessica every week to make sure my transcripts are coming in. I check my student email everyday. I'm just waiting to hear from her to find out what classes I need. Then Patrick Finn emails me today saying he was closing my file. He has emailed me a few times saying to "confirm your interest" and I reply.

Enrollment specialists have almost nothing to do with UMPI. They have contacted multiple students here who had already graduated. You can safely block the enrollment specialist phone number and emails. You only need to pay attention to actual UMPI staff.

The enrollment specialists are the biggest blight on the whole UMPI YourPace degree system. There is no real good reason for them to exist, and they may be actively chasing away legit students.

I too, got a "confirm your interest" email... when I was already enrolled and working on my classes.

Just stay in touch with Jessica. You don't need to talt to "enrollment specialists", they are useless.

Enrollment specialists are like used car sales people - USELESS! I refused to talk or email with them because they were such clueless twits. Just stay in touch with Jessica and Shea and you'll be fine. If you're still in the admissions phase, Shea might be easier to reach.

So I called her and left a message and she emailed me back with my enrollment info, and said she doesn't know why he did that. The guy then emailed me saying I'm "all set". Even the times that I did respond to him he never had much to say, so abruptly telling me he's "closing my file" was so strange. I don't even know what their purpose really is as it didn't accomplish anything but panic when I woke up.

Anyways, be aware that in addition to "confirm your interest" nonsense they could potentially threaten you like this, too.

By the way, it looks like I transferred 97 credits (still waiting on SDC Bio101L to come through) and I'll be taking 13 classes.

GEC
-Eng 211 Creative Writing
-Pos 101 American Government

Management Minor
-Bus 260 Leadership
-Bus 321 Human Resources
-Bus 415 Operations Management

And eight 300/400 electives

Thank you!

Do you know a method of contacting Jessica or Shea directly?
I did manage to leave a voice mail for Shea.

I want to discuss the enrollment/application process, must I begin this conversation with an enrollment specialist?

The enrollment specialists do NOT understand the YourPace enrollment process. There should be a valid email on the wiki, on the UMPI page. Otherwise, if you have specific questions about the enrollment process, you'll get more useful answers by asking them on this forum rather than talking to these so-called "specialists".

Thank you for your guidance! I really appreciate it. I will review the UMPI page and come up with some questions.

I am thinking the UMPI BLS (Education) might be perfect for my wife. She is a 19-year Navy Veteran. She has an Associate of Science in Education, an Undergraduate Certificate for Early Childhood Education, and has been a substitute teacher and para educator (on and off) for over twenty years. Most amazingly, She is a self-taught scholar regarding American History and a particular scholar of one of our founding fathers [She has no credentials regarding American history but, her knowledge of the subject is incredible].

First question: What should she do first?

Should I wait for Shea to return my call? or should I continue to call the main office number?

Is there a section of the UMPI Website that shows a roadmap/list of competencies required for each BLS Major and Minor?

Your wife will need to be the one to contact UMPI. Colleges cannot discuss students or potential students with others unless they're minors due to FERPA. First thing to do is to develop a degree plan. What courses does your wife already have? It may be easier for her to join the forum and ask her questions directly.

Once you're in contact with Jessica or UMPI directly, ignore all enrollment specialists.

They still call me... years later.
