BUS440 - removed from Spring 2023 - uncoolbilly - 01-03-2023
Seems that BUS440 will not be offered spring of 2023.
Has anyone found an alternate course somewhere to fill this requirement at UMPI? It was on the spring list during the fall and I added it to my planner, but seems like something changed.
I emailed Jessica, but figured I should check here too.

If you want to get it out of the way ASAP, you could take it at Coursera: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera The UMPI course is supposed to be way easier, but if it's not going to be available this next session then it might be worth it to take it anyway so that you don't have to remain enrolled for 2 more sessions.

My sister & I were the guinea pigs for the Coursera courses, and yes, they are harder, but none took more than 2-4 days, depending on the available time we had (+all were Free due to 7 day trial period). In addition, they are valuable as add-ons to your resume. My sister has received pay increases from hers at this point, which is added to her pay increase from earning her BABA.
Start today and get it done by the weekend, and it's off the board.

In a competency-based environment, they can't just take away some courses and offer it in other sessions. Most people cannot afford to enrol another session just for the sake of 1-2 courses.

Not offering courses in a term and requiring students to take them in another term was normal just a blink ago. If I remember correctly, last year, Q1 @ss20ts was under that structure with her time with UMPI.
Addressing the 'they can't comment; they certainly can and it's our job (the student) to come up with creative ways to handle the obstacle.

Yes, prior to Fall 2022, most business courses at UMPI were only offered once a semester. Not twice. Fall 2022 they started offering all of them every semester, but that is subject to staff availability. The professor I had for this course is gone as he was an adjunct.

She said that all classes are available every term with YourPace... so don't pay attention to "TYPICALLY OFFERED" field in MainStreet (or the not available at the shopping cart).

Not accurate. A PM course I wanted to take was not available Fall '22. But yes, check with Jessica.

BUS359? That course hasn't been available in a long time.
