TESU BA CS with Finnish credits - Dan9481 - 12-12-2022 Hello, I wanted to do the TESU BA CS with ANSM Math, I recently saw the cheap finnish credits via Metropolia university, Specially the 180 ECTS for 579€ in IT, I wanted to go the traditional route first with credits from sophia, SDC, straightliner and OSU. But now I am confused, Should I still go with my original plan or switch over to the 180 ECTS for 579€, Will it help me save more money and time? The current courses I completed from my earlier university are: 1. Intro to programming 2. Data Structures and algorithms 3. Operating Systems 4. Intro to Object Oriented Programming in C++ 5. Digital Logic 6. Basic Mathematics (A mix of calculus and trig) 7. Fundamentals of IT Since I am an International student I probably have to run it through and transcript evaluation service either way, So I will be very grateful if you guys can help me along with this. RE: TESU BA CS with Finnish credits - rachel83az - 12-12-2022 Your first evaluation will cost about $200 from ACEI. Adding Finnish credits would be another $100, plus the cost of the credits themselves. I think you've got most/all of the "required" courses from the 579€ ECTS; the rest would mostly be electives. Unless you're really enthusiastic about what Metropolia offers, I probably wouldn't suggest it for you. If your 7 classes evaluate as 3 US credits each, that's 21 credits. Take a TECEP for about $150 and that covers your "RA equivalent" requirement, when combined with the capstone/cornerstone. OR do the 16-credit flat-rate term, and no TECEP, to save the residency waiver fee. If your 7 classes somehow evaluate as only 2 US credits each, that's 14 credits. Do the 16-credit flat-rate term and you've got exactly 30 RA/RA-equivalent credits. If you get 14 credits out of your evaluation and you do not want to do the flat-rate term to avoid the residency waiver, that leaves 10 credits to get from somewhere else. 12 credits of TECEPs (because each one is 3 credits) would be $624-$924. In that case, doing Metropolia credits could be slightly cheaper. But not by much. It might or might not save you any time, either. I would recommend getting your current credits evaluated by ACEI first, transfer them to TESU, then go from there based on what your evaluation looks like. RE: TESU BA CS with Finnish credits - Dan9481 - 12-13-2022 Okay, I get it now, But the credits I have currently, are from outside the states, Will they count as RA? RE: TESU BA CS with Finnish credits - rachel83az - 12-13-2022 As long as the foreign credits are from an accredited institution and ACEI says that they are equivalent to RA credits, TESU counts them as "RA credits". |
