Sophia - Critical Thinking - Indy73 - 11-18-2022 I noticed that Sophia is offering a Critical Thinking course. When I went into the course, it showed that zero colleges/universities accept this course for credit transfer. I'm sure this is because it is too new and has not been evaluated by each college/university. Does anyone think that WGU will accept this Sophia course for WGU's Critical Thinking and Logic course? It just so happens, that this is the last course I would like to take before I enroll with WGU. SDC seems like too much work and seems easier at WGU unless Sophia will be accepted with WGU. RE: Sophia - Critical Thinking - ss20ts - 11-18-2022 It can take awhile before any schools accept new classes from Sophia. Each school has to evaluate it and then update their systems. RE: Sophia - Critical Thinking - MNomadic - 11-18-2022 There's literally no way to know for sure until someone confirms, but I'd say the chances are pretty high. With that said, assuming you're actively subscribed to Sophia, I'd just take it(should take a day or less) since you would have nothing to lose. Either it transfers, or you spent some time learning the material and can pass WGU's OA on the first shot. Also, you could be that person that confirms if it transfers. RE: Sophia - Critical Thinking - Indy73 - 11-19-2022 Thanks for the reply. I will finish this course this weekend and let everyone know once it is evaluated. It can a couple weeks at a minimum for WGU to receive and evaluate transcripts. My best recommendation is if you're already using sophia.org, you may as well take the critical thinking course and try transferring it. It shouldn't take long to complete and even if they don't accept it(there's a high probability they will accept it), then you've spent that time studying for WGU's version of the course and should be able to test out now.(11-19-2022, 07:28 AM)Indy73 Wrote: Thanks for the reply. That could take a few days to two weeks. Once they do grade it, and I pass, I will submit it to WGU. That may take up to another two weeks.(11-19-2022, 07:28 AM)Indy73 Wrote: Thanks for the reply. Who knows? RE: Sophia - Critical Thinking - Indy73 - 11-30-2022 I just got the e-mail that my Sophia Critical Thinking touchstone was graded. I passed and I just accepted the badge and submitted my transcript from Credly to WGU. I would say it will be at least 1-2 weeks before I receive the audit results. I will keep everyone posted once I know. RE: Sophia - Critical Thinking - raekwon - 12-02-2022 It's now listed on at least some partners.wgu.edu pages as being accepted, so I think we have our answer. [attachment=4309] |
