How math heavy are the MSML & MBA? - IceSparkle - 10-28-2022

I’m just curious how math heavy the MSML and MBA are. I’ve heard the MSML can be done in a term fairly easily. Why does the MBA take longer? Just curious for future reference, thinking about pursuing one or the other at some point.

You should look at the courses being taught in each of the degrees you're comparing. I don't think they're math heavy at all, there seems to be some overlapping courses. The main reason someone may be faster on the MSML is that they don't really need the "business admin" previous education to excel in those courses, the MBA has a few that may be more suited for those who have a business undergrad degree already.

The MSML involved one math problem.

Not one math class, one problem. If you hate math, that is not a barrier at all to the MSML.

Sounds pretty easy. Do you know how math heavy the MBA is? A lot of accounting?

MBA is probably not math heavy at all.... some basic applied math will be required for MBA.

MBA is not math-heavy at all. You'll learn how to do NPV, PV, FV, Annuities, etc calculations in the Finance course which is intermediate algebra. The Accounting courses are all basic arithmetic. Depending on the program, may require a Quantitative Business Analysis course where you have to do very basic optimization problems, but then again it's all spreadsheets and very basic math. Marketing once again is basic math, customer LTV, and other basic math.
