Sophia's Spanish 1 - alsimko - 10-18-2022 My son's account is currently not active on Sophia. Has anyone taken Spanish I that could tell us about the assignments? Are they writing intensive? What is involved? RE: Sophia's Spanish 1 - Jennr2z - 10-18-2022 (10-18-2022, 05:40 PM)alsimko Wrote: My son's account is currently not active on Sophia. Has anyone taken Spanish I that could tell us about the assignments? Are they writing intensive? What is involved?I took it last June. From memory, I think there is 3 writing assignments, 100 words for the first 2, and I think 200 words for TS 3. Also, 2 oral assignments, I think 1 minute and 2 minutes respectively. It really wasn’t bad at all. RE: Sophia's Spanish 1 - alsimko - 10-18-2022 Thank you! That’s very helpful! RE: Sophia's Spanish 1 - rachel83az - 10-19-2022 FWIW, you can "preview" all Sophia classes, including the assignments, even with an inactive membership. Very useful for deciding if the assignments are suitable for your needs. RE: Sophia's Spanish 1 - bjcheung77 - 10-19-2022 I didn't know there was a preview option! Haha, you learn something new every day... I gotta see how this works... OK, I get what you mean by the "preview", you're referring to the "free trial" period... it only gets you up to a certain point, can someone finish the course within the trial period? I think the final milestones, or something isn't accessible until you're a paying member. But you can download all PDF documents for the course and click on all Touchstones to see what you're expected to do. One could, in theory, read all the documents for multiple courses and complete the Touchstones, then pay for the membership and submit the Touchstones as you go through the course. Very similar to how SDC works for some people. |
