Coding Dojo lands $10M - bjcheung77 - 07-15-2022

These guys are in my neck of the woods in Washington! They've expanded and have had success with growth over the years.  Basically they're a programming bootcamp and also charge a premium for their programs (like most players out there).  I wouldn't necessarily go for their programs, many other companies looking to "pay and train" their developers have.

If someone were looking to move from nursing into computer science, specifically ethical hacking/cybersecurity, would you recommend one of these bootcamps? I've seen many other bootcamp schools like this that promise a chance at a job. I think doing a masters in nursing informatics and seeking additional training afterward would be the way to go.

Computer science has a few sub specialties, bootcamps are more programming than cybersecurity or ethical hacking unless you go for a specific one made for those. If the cost, energy, time to complete these are of better value for you, then sure. However, most of them I see are about 10K or more, so I would rather do the cheap, easy, fast options with the cheapo online code camps and get the certs for those, along with the Business/IT certs from Coursera/IBM, etc.

A thread on Health Informatics would be valuable in its own right.  I'm not a big fan of these USNews listings but it's a place to start.  I think the ones mentioned in the article are pretty expensive.

Yeah, and there are always the ones we recommend from WGU for graduate or another CBE/Big 3 option if it's the undergraduate level.

Update: Perdoceo buys them out!  Wow, that's a bit more than I would have thought since they initially was able to get $10 million funding.
Perdoceo owns the following institutions with recent purchases since 2019, 2022, and this year they've acquired a coding boot camp!

American InterContinental University (AIU)
Colorado Technical University (CTU)
California Southern University (acquired in 2022)
Trident University International (acquired by Career Education Corporation in 2019)
