Problems with your degree:

Study.com
Criminal Justice 306: Research Methods in Criminal Justice is LL at EC
Criminal Justice 305: The Juvenile Justice System is LL at EC
Criminal Justice 106: Forensic Science is not considered a CJ course, it's a Free Elective

TEEX
Death Investigation expired in 2021

Also, you have 18cr UL in the major (assuming you can take UL elsewhere or at EC), and 12cr UL in Free electives, but EC requires 21cr in A&S (including this major) and only 9cr UL allowed in Free Electives. You also only have 118cr, you need 120.

Your degree, using EC courses in place of the 4 courses (above) would be a MINIMUM of $10,076; that does not include the cost of Study.com for a minimum of 7 months (33 courses / 5 courses per mo max = 6.6 months > 7 months x 199/mo = $1393 - 60 discount = $1333. Total is $11,409. This is one PRICY CJ degree.

You are MUCH better off doing this degree at UMPI instead; 2 terms will cost $2800, 3 terms is $4200, even 4 terms is $5600. Heck, you could bring in zero credit and do every class at UMPI and take 8 terms and be better off ($11,200).

How do you get the field experience required for UMPI Criminal Justice?

I am not wrong about Death Investigations and it is not a problem with the degree. It renewed on 6/1/22 and is not expired, you are wrong.

Criminal Justice 306: Research Methods in Criminal Justice is LL at EC

Criminal Justice 305: The Juvenile Justice System is LL at EC
Criminal Justice 106: Forensic Science is not considered a CJ course, it's a Free Elective
These classes were taken directly from the transfer guide from Excelsior and it is located in one of the tabs in my degree plan. If the guide that Excelsior created is incorrect or out of date then I'm unaware of it. We have them plugged into a degree at Excelsior. Schools change things which is why the degree forum is so helpful. This is also why it's clearly stated on the degree plan: "check with a Study college coach and your Excelsior advisor before taking classes as this is over a year old".

Death Investigation is no longer UL.

When I posted this, the Death Investigations course was listed as expired on the ACE website - I checked.  So, it has recently been renewed, but is now LL, so it still won't work as planned.

Criminal Justice 106: Forensic Science - I also checked this prior to posting, and it shows as a Free Elective.  It has been this way for quite a long time.

RE: BS in Criminal Justice Degree Plan - ss20ts - 07-17-2022

Why no Sophia? It's WAAAAAAY cheaper than Study. Study is kind of pricey compared to some other ACE sources. There's even some RA credit out there that's not pricy like ONU.

That stinks!! Thank you for letting me know! I'll update that now. I even looked at Law Shelf but the 3 CJ classes come in as LL.
