1 More Year to Use Financial Aid for Foreign Online Programs - sanantone - 06-15-2022

I didn't know that, for the past two years, Congress granted a waiver that allowed Americans to use financial aid for distance education programs at non-U.S. institutions. Normally, students cannot use financial aid at foreign schools if any courses are taken online. At most, a course can be blended, but a program cannot be hybrid with a mix of online and on-campus courses.

Because of the pandemic, students have been allowed to take up to 100% of their courses by distance from 2020 to June 30, 2022. Earlier this year, the waiver was extended to June 2023.
