Are CE and certificates from Alison.com legit? I seared the board but don't see anything.

They're more similar to LinkedIn Learning, essentially they are not worth credit, but give a very basic overview of the topics.

I think LinkedIn Learning purchased a competitor to Alison.com for about 1.5 billion, the company was named Lynda.com or something like that. They're all "not worth credit" but a very good starting point I would say. Similar to the e-certificate freebies from several offerings...

I've tried several Alison courses, and they're nothing but fluff in slideshow format. I agree with Bjcheung; you're only given a basic overview of topics. They're recognized by a couple of UK organizations for CE. That's something to keep in mind. What you're learning might be specific to the UK. Alison seems to be most focused on career and technical education (trades) and some very basic academic education.

Linked purchased Lynda.com and renamed it LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn Learning is more comparable to a lot of Udemy courses in that they're video crash courses. They have many test-prep courses for IT certifications. Most lecturers are college instructors or industry professionals. Some LinkedIn Learning paths are worth college credits at foreign schools usually with an additional essay or exam. LinkedIn Learning is most focused on business, technology, and the arts.

Coursera and edX mostly host content from high-ranking colleges and universities, but they also have content from major tech companies. They're far more academically focused than Alison and LinkedIn Learning.

I wouldn't bother with Alison courses... try Udemy courses instead. Their certificates sometimes work for employment.
