Elite Universities according to UK Government - smartdegree - 05-11-2022 Starting May 2022, UK will be granting special "high potential" open work permits to graduates of elite universities identified by the UK government. Work permits will be based on university, not nationality. Here's the complete list of universities: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/high-potential-individual-visa-global-universities-list/high-potential-individual-visa-global-universities-list-2021 California Institute of Technology (Caltech) USA Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Hong Kong Columbia University USA Cornell University USA Duke University USA Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL Switzerland) Switzerland ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) Switzerland Harvard University USA Johns Hopkins University USA Karolinska Institute Sweden Kyoto University Japan Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA McGill University Canada Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore National University of Singapore Singapore New York University (NYU) USA Northwestern University USA Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University France Peking University China Princeton University USA Stanford University USA Tsinghua University China University of British Columbia Canada University of California, Berkeley USA University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) USA University of California, San Diego USA University of Chicago US USA University of Hong Kong Hong Kong University of Melbourne Australia University of Michigan-Ann Arbor USA University of Munich (LMU Munich) Germany University of Pennsylvania USA University of Texas at Austin USA University of Tokyo Japan University of Toronto Canada University of Washington USA Yale University USA RE: Elite Universities according to UK Government - asianphd - 05-11-2022 University of Texas at Austin USA Does an online degree eligible for this? https://www.edx.org/masters/online-master-science-computer-science-utaustinx RE: Elite Universities according to UK Government - jsd - 05-11-2022 The degrees don't differentiate between online and traditional, so I don't see why not RE: Elite Universities according to UK Government - smartdegree - 05-11-2022 (05-11-2022, 10:29 AM)asianphd Wrote: University of Texas at Austin USA Looks like it. There is no mention on whether the degree needs to be on campus. So online will probably meet the criteria! I guess that's a huge benefit for international students of going UT online vs GT online for MSCS - the UK work visa! RE: Elite Universities according to UK Government - sanantone - 05-11-2022 I think that settles the debate on whether University of Texas at Austin is well-regarded across the U.S. since it's obviously world-renowned. It shouldn't have been a debate in the first place. There's only two things that come out of Texas : Steers and Well Educated Computer Science Students and I don't see any horns on you RE: Elite Universities according to UK Government - bjcheung77 - 05-11-2022 Why is University of Washington and Yale way down that list, I thought they were ranked higher than that? Oh wait, never mind... it's in alphabetical order! LOL, back to what you were doing... |
