Graduate Independent Study - ss20ts - 05-05-2022 Anyone know of any independent study for grad students - particularly business courses? BYU and University of Idaho are the only 2 that I know of and they don't have grad business courses available. Graduate Independent Study - Tedium - 05-05-2022 I haven’t seen a lot of business, mostly leadership courses. Give these a look and see if they have anything you need: https://www.graduatecreditcourses.com/ https://ce.fresno.edu/educator-courses/ https://www.ctelearn.org/credit-courses/ RE: Graduate Independent Study - freeloader - 05-05-2022 Not sure how independent these really are, but there are 5 1-credit courses here in Teaching Economics, transcripted with EC prefix by Emporia State University: https://www.stlouisfed.org/education/teacher-professional-development I am going to do these at some point in the future. If you do them/some of them, would love to hear about it. RE: Graduate Independent Study - jsd - 05-05-2022 More teaching ones (professional dev courses through University of La Verne that are for graduate credit) https://www.pdcourses.net/ RE: Graduate Independent Study - ss20ts - 05-05-2022 (05-05-2022, 02:53 PM)Tedium Wrote: I haven’t seen a lot of business, mostly leadership courses. My friend is definitely look for business independent study grad courses. I don't know if they'll have any luck. Seems like independent study/correspondence type courses have pretty much converted to online courses. That's a new one for me. Putting it in the file. Thanks! RE: Graduate Independent Study - Alpha - 05-06-2022 I'm not sure how you're defining the term "independant study" but once upon a time all the programs offered through the University of London were considered to be independant study. https://london.ac.uk/ RE: Graduate Independent Study - ss20ts - 05-06-2022 (05-06-2022, 01:56 PM)Alpha Wrote: I'm not sure how you're defining the term "independant study" but once upon a time all the programs offered through the University of London were considered to be independant study. My friend is looking for business grad classes like the independent study courses offered through BYU and University of Idaho like I said in my initial post. Supposedly he found a grad program he can transfer in 18 credits and wants to "cheat the system" with independent study courses. I don't know how that's cheating the system but ok. LOL RE: Graduate Independent Study - SweetSecret - 05-06-2022 Which school is allowing transferring in 18 credits? How many are required total? I'm at Walden and maxing out my 15 transfer courses, plus I got my first term free. Many of my credits will be from University of the People, but those are not necessarily independent study classes just inexpensive. Anyhow, LawShelf and ASU's new global certification moocs that come with grad credits could be an option. Seems like both of those are study at your own pace. If you come across any others though, I would like to know. I plan to do a JD degree after this and might be looking for other places to get electives. I'll probably use quite a few from LawShelf if I can. RE: Graduate Independent Study - bjcheung77 - 05-07-2022 *Ding ding* I was going to recommend the ASU Global Cert as it can be up to 15 grad credits for free! I still need to read up on that because it may be possible to have it transfer to whichever college/university your friend is interested in... I am thinking it may or may not fully be transferable depending on how they are graded and shows on the transcript! |
