English Comp. 1&2 at UMPI vs CLEP? - Jwheels27 - 04-06-2022

Should I take English Comp. 1 & 2 at UMPI or should I take the College Comp CLEP? Which would be the easier route to take?

How many credits are you transferring to UMPI already? Some people find the CLEP to be not easy to pass. Others think that it's super easy.

But, aside from that, English Comp I & II are supposed to be easy introductions to the course structure at UMPI. Even if the CLEP might technically be easier to do, it sounds like taking the classes from UMPI makes your academic life there easier in the long run.

This really depends on the student and their situation, I would recommend taking it at UMPI if you need graded credits. For example, you're looking at grad school and the grad school is "semi competitive", they will want to take a look at your final 30-60 graded credits. However, having said that, if you're going for one of the CBE such as PUG, UMPI, Walden, WGU for a Masters, they're not competitive enough to require you to have graded credits for entry into the Masters.

As of right now I have between 60-70 credits completed, there are a couple courses I still need to take at both SDC and Instacert, but that’s all I planned on transferring in unless I decide to take a few more. So it sounds like English Comp. 1&2 are both easier at UMPI

I agree with Rachel83Az, and also recommend the wiki she's completed for the UMPI BLS, I would follow or mold a plan or spreadsheet to reflect what's on the wiki link here, each suggestion is the cheap, easy, fast option for every requirement: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UMPI_BLS_Management_Degree_Plan

I’m actually going for a BABA-Management & Leadership

Yeah, so there is one for that too on the wiki here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UMPI_BABA_Management_%26_Leadership_Degree_Plan

Eng Comp at UMPI is really easy. I took Eng Comp 2 and completed it in 3 days. Easy class to get an A in. Who can't use an easy A in their GPA?

English Comp 2 is an absolute must avoid at UMPI currently

Plenty of people aren't having a problem with the professor. Some are. Definitely not everyone.
