OK, that means bye bye bye to COSC, for just a tad more at 7 credits, Excelsior would be tied with UMPI for my first choice, TESU/WGU would be second, and COSC/PUG third. BTW, for those who graduated already, you can get a reprint!
Can students who graduated from Excelsior College, Regents College, or The University of the State of New York order a new diploma with Excelsior University listed?
After August 1, 2022, alumni can order diploma reprints to receive Excelsior University diplomas. More details will be available closer to August 1.

New York State has strict regulations around the name University. For example, DeVry University has long had a physical campus in New York but it operates there as DeVry College of New York.
Touro College in New York was flagship campus of the Touro College and University System – which includes New York Medical College, Touro University California, Touro University Nevada, and Touro University Worldwide – but the flagship couldn't operate as "Touro University" in its home state.
This year the State Board of Regents has approved a wave of New York private nonprofit colleges renaming to University. Joanna Silver of Bond Schoeneck & King PLLC writes at JDSupra:
Quote:In order for a college to become a university in New York, a petition to amend the institution’s charter must be filed with the Board of Regents. A review of the minutes from the February 2022 and March 2022 meetings of the Board of Regents reveals that several New York colleges – D’Youville, Touro, Utica, Daemen, Excelsior and Molloy – have already had their charter amendment petitions approved by the Board of Regents, officially changing their corporate names from ‘college’ to ‘university.’
