Free professional certificates at Rasmussen - Vle045 - 03-06-2022

I just came across these free certificates at Rasmussen. They are non-credit but could be resume boosters or just additional learning opportunities

There's some good looking offerings in that list.

Somewhere along the way I read that some certificates might later open up the opportunity to test out of some courses, but it didn’t have specifics.

eRasmussen’s Professional Certificates consist of highly focused courses—some of which you may be able to leverage for test-out credit toward a Rasmussen University degree. Every course features engaging content with videos, images and interactive elements and emphasize skill mastery—not just theory. Professional Certificate training means quickly realizing the benefits of your new proficiencies with validated, contextualized tasks that show your competency to showcase on your resume.

I was just thinking…. If nothing else, these could be a good way of trying out a topic if you are undecided what to choose for a major/concentration.

Has anyone started one of these? There's a few that look interesting. A few topics I have no knowledge of and these look like a great way to learn something about another industry.

I'm curious about a few of these as well, if anyone jumps in I'd love to see some feedback.

Also curious what the certificate says/looks like. Hopefully it says Rasmussen University and not eRasmussen.

I thought I read about these certs last year or so ago, and we did have a chat about them in the other forum:

An important terms and conditions note: Section 1.5: Enrollment
eRasmussen Professional Certificate courses are available to individuals seeking professional development in the United States except California.

Ah, drat.

I wonder what the issue/conflict is here.

That is weird especially since they are non-credit anyways.

Before Rasmussen was purchased, none of their programs were available in NY or RI either. That changed after they were purchased. Walden has the same problem. It's due to state laws. NY requires colleges to meet some financial requirement and if they can't then their degrees aren't allowed in the state. Doesn't matter if the school is part of NC-SARA either from what it sounds like.
