TESU thesis topic? - Lee586 - 01-29-2022

Don't know where to post this but the syllabus says I have to pick a thesis that is in line with my major? I thought I have read many posts on here your capstone can be about whatever you want and have nothing to do with your Area of Study?

Are you talking about the undergraduate capstone? At least for the Liberal Studies degree, it can be anything. In my class, someone did their capstone on "how to change your name on your driver's license in OH if you are transgender," another was on elder care and assisted living, and many were on some form of management or finance. This would be something to discuss with your professor, but my sense is it is literally almost anything.

I wonder if the mentor even knows your AoS. I don't recall it ever being brought up in my cap course, but it's been 5 years now.

You topic can be anything.

Generally, you want to pick a problem that hasn't been solved yet.

In my course it wasn't required to pick a topic for your AOS, but was encouraged if you wanted to do so. I think for my class we had such wide variety of different AOSs that using that as our projects let us show off.

I felt like my mentor said I would have to do something in my AOS, but I pushed back a little, and he said I could do anything.
